This past month…
It has been quite a while since I wrote. I apologize. This past month has been pretty busy. For the most part our days consist of the same routine so there’s not much out of routine that happens. The end of June wasn’t too bad. Starting 4th of July week we began to pick up and have several people. All week we had a family reunion of 14. On the night of the 4th the whole ranch went to the rodeo. Since I had missed the first time they went I really enjoyed going that night. We stayed for the fireworks afterwards which were cool. Not as good as some I’ve seen but cool none the less. I always love fireworks.
The following Sunday my parents came into town to visit my sister and myself. They camped in Grand Teton park and spent the days with us doing different things. Wednesday afternoon (the 11th) I went fly-fishing with my dad. A family friend that’s out here, Chad, guided us. Fly-fishing was alot different than the normal fishing I’m used to. It’s a little more work than casting the line in and waiting for a fish to bite. Fly-fishing is done in the rivers around here and the lakes sometime. You have to work hard to make the fly on the end of the line look like an actual fly on the water. And you have to be quick to catch the fish. It was alot of fun though and it was fun spending time with my family. Thursday we went hiking all day. We hiked around Jenny lake and saw lots of pretty scenery and some great views. And we saw two bears. Friday I just kinda drove around the park with my parents and Rach and ended up seeing two more bears. I really enjoyed seeing my family even if it was only half of them.
I’ve missed them alot. It was really refreshing. Lots of good times.
This past week has been pretty slow which has been nice. We’re starting to pick up again so it’ll be busy again. It’s really hard to believe that I only have a few more weeks left before I head back to home, then school. I’m gonna really miss this place but at the same time I miss being home and at school. So many mixed emotions…
